Workshop for aspiring improvisational musicians
For 3 to 300 participants (any instrument) of advanced skill
- Lecture: ‘Tricks or music?’
- Individual and group tuition - ‘Developing improvisational material’
- ‘Masterclass’ - individual tuition for trombonists

It is possible to round off the workshop with a closing concert, in which all participants have the chance to perform solo or together.
Lecture: ‘Tricks or music?’
Trombone and Improvisation
Insights gained from 35 years of exploration of both the trombone and the world of improvisation
Creating improvisational material
Applying newly acquired timbres through solo performance
In the form of individual tuition or group work participants rehearse elements of the lecture. A component of the seminar is the development of improvisational material in solo or duo (e.g. with Conny Bauer) contexts or larger ensembles, as desired.
The number of lessons should be determined individually and can be dependent in such factors as the number of participants, the configuration of the venue space and the desire for a joint closing concert.
In this seminar Conny Bauer gives individual tuition for trombone. Students will receive insights into the widest possible array techniques available in playing improvised music on this instrument.
In the closing concert performances by the participating musicians the can be combined with solo performances by Conny Bauer. It is also possible to play together with the artist.
